Closing the Year Together - Reflections, Gratitude, and What’s Ahead
A note as I close this chapter.
As I write this final newsletter as President, my mind is reflective and my heart is full.
Our year-end in-person celebration last week was a true highlight. So much connection. Laughter. Learning. And that unmistakable joy that shows up when coaches gather. Whether you joined in person or virtually, thank you for being part of it. It truly felt like community.
Since then, many parts of Washington state have experienced heavy rain, flooding, evacuations, and road closures. I hope you and your loved ones are safe. Please take care of yourselves and each other during this time.
Serving as President this year has taught me a lot. About shared leadership. About listening more than fixing. About building muscles together. And about how much heart, talent, and generosity live in this chapter. Our volunteers, board members, and members continue to show up with care and commitment every day. That is not something I take lightly.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve ICF Washington State. It has been an honor to learn and grow alongside you. And I’m excited for what’s ahead under Ashley Wollam’s leadership in 2026.
As the year winds down, I wish you rest, warm moments, and time with people you love. Have a joyful and peaceful holiday season!
With gratitude,
Marriot Winquist
ICF Washington Board President
